Arriving in Germany

The flight from Houston to Heathrow, London was a long one. In 8 hours and 55 minutes I went 5400 miles, went through a full night cycle in only 4 hours, and saw half the world in the dark and half the world in the light. Once in Heathrow we had a 2 hour layover until our 1 hour flight to Frankfurt. From Frankfurt we rode the bus to Bonn, a 2 hour drive. At this point everyone was so tired, that most of us slept. Here are some pictures detailing the flight and arrival in Bonn.

Outside the window of my seat on the biggest commercial jet in the world. An Airbus A380. over 60 rows, and 12 seats wide PER ROW.
3 hours outside of Heathrow, the sun was coming up around 2am US central time (8am london).

Europe is very cloudy. Just about every spot of land is covered in clouds.

The dark and light side of the Earth at the same time. The Sun is coming up off the left of the photo. That white spot is the moon.

Over the clouds, the sun is EXTREMELY bright. At this time we were about 2 hours out of London, and for the people on the plane, their body's clock was at 3am. You can imagine how unusual it is for the sun to be this up at 3am.

Every seat had a touch screen, with over 100 movies, 100 tv shows, 50 radio stations, and this cool in flight journey tracker, there was always something to keep you entertained. This thing had the newest movies too. Harry Potter 7 pt2, cars 2, hangover pt2, moneyball, etc. This was the Journey screen on descent. For most of the flight we flew at 37,000 feet, around 680mph, and I think the coldest it got was -95 F, and that was at 37,000 feet near Quebec, Canada.

This was the map showing our relation to the airport. Just over Cork Ireland we began our descent into Heathrow.

 Over the coast of Ireland.

 Near London.

 London.

 More London.

Coming into Frankfurt, it was almost 4:30pm and the sun was already going down.

 Frankfurt.

Our Charter bus to Bonn from Frankfurt Airport.
